Launch of UBC Cybersecurity Confidential Communications website

Launch of UBC Cybersecurity Confidential Communications website

June 05, 2018

In a continued effort to increase the dialogue and transparency about cybersecurity at UBC, we have launched a new UBC Cybersecurity Confidential Communications website at https://cc.cybersecurity.ubc.ca

This site is a secure, non-public environment meant for UBC staff, faculty, researchers, and affiliates. The intention of the site is to share confidential and sensitive information with the broader IT @ UBC community on cybersecurity issues at UBC. Traditional communication channels will still be used for announcements about cybersecurity issues at UBC, but will direct users to the secure site when sensitive information needs to be shared (e.g. IP ranges for vulnerability scanning).

The new UBC Cybersecurity Confidential Communications site replaces the previous Information Security Internal Communications website (previously located at infosec.it.ubc.ca) and includes:

  • Blog/News postings
  • An open forum for community feedback and discussion
  • Technical reference documentation

Basic access to this site requires Campus-Wide Login (CWL) credentials. If you are located off-campus, a myVPN connection is required. As an added level of security, users can apply for access to privileged information through the “Apply for Privileged Access” form.
